5 pillars of shabang

The five pillars of Shabang give direction in our past, present, and future: Best of the Central Coast, Overflowing Music & Experiential Art, Good Vibes, Community Participation, Inclusion & Social Responsibility.

the best of the central coast

Located on the sprawling grass meadows under Mt Madonna, Laguna Lake Park is a dreamy venue that offers amazing views of the natural beauty in San Luis Obispo. With curated breakout talent and strong ties to the community, we share the voices and stories of Central Coast artisans and beyond by providing them a celebratory spotlight where they can share their gifts with the world. Shabang provides an unparalleled San Luis Obispo Music and Arts Experience where you can do it all!

Overflowing Music & Experiential Art

Live music, performance art, food, beer gardens, rock climbing, workshops, yoga, silent disco, games, comedy, live art, burning man art cars, vendors, slacklining, skateboarding, hammocks, VIP, and more! Our goal is to provide the perfect California day where all you need to do is show up ready to go!

our Energy

good vibes only

Shabang is all about spreading love and positivity. We have a unique opportunity to cultivate positivity by spreading smiles, compliments, and groovy dance moves. Human connection is powerful and when we show up radiating good energy we improve the experiences of those around us and elevate the mojo!

Creating a platform for the talented creatives of Central Coast has always been a cornerstone of Shabang’s mission. Tucked between entertainment powerhouses of Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Central Coast has historically been overlooked for it’s talent. By featuring local bands, artisans, and vendors, we curate a unique representation of the local arts culture and authentic style of the 805. Shabang encourages anyone to reach out and get involved because when we all work together with a common goal, we are capable of amazing things!

Shabang was born from a few friends with the idea to throw a concert on a mountain. With an attendance of 20, nobody envisioned what the show called ‘The Last Shabang’ would become. As the sun set and the music guided the herd into the unknown, an overwhelming sense of warmth and euphoria spread through the sparse crowd. They had started something special. The vibe was too good to stop there, so the friends kept it alive and rolling, and here we are today.
