1. What is the drone policy?
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all festival attendees, artists, and staff, Shabang Music Productions strictly prohibits the operation of or use of any unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also know as “Drones”, on, from, or above Shabang Festival premises, events or venues without specific written permission from an official of Shabang Music Productions. This includes all UAVs regardless of size, weight, or purpose. If you are found to be using or in the possession of a UAV or “Drone” while at Shabang, it will be confiscated by ground staff and held for the remainder of the event.
2. What is the photo policy?
By attending Shabang (the “Festival”) you consent to being filmed and or photographed, whereas your image, voice, and likeness may be used by Shabang Music Productions for promotional purposes.
Any photography or video taken at the Festival, whether in digital or analog format, is subject to a mandatory, non-exclusive license to Shabang Music Productions for use in promotional purposes.
Any artwork or performances sponsored by the Festival or taking place on Festival grounds is also subject to a mandatory, non-exclusive license to Shabang Music Productions for use in promotional purposes.
All photographers using 360-degree cameras, DSLRs or cameras with detachable lenses are required to have media credentials to take pictures or video at the Festival.
3. Is there parking at the festival? Does it cost money?
Yes, there is a $10 parking lot fee for those driving to Shabang.
4. How can I get involved at Shabang?
Whether you’re a 5-time vet, or a first-time Shabanger, we ALL take part in creating our community. Take it one step further and get involved at Shabang 2020 by going to our Get Involved page.
5. Who should I contact for general festival and event questions?
You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We try to answer questions as quickly as possible, please allow 24 hours M-F for a response.
6. Will there be alcohol sold at Shabang?
Yes! There will be beer, wine and liquor sold at multiple bars throughout the festival area. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available at the bars. Cash or cards are accepted.
7. Will there be water for sale?
Yes, single-use water bottles will be for sale by various food vendors and at the info kiosk. However, we recommend bringing a reusable bottle and refill at one of the water refill stations throughout the site.
8. Is there a lost and found?
Yes, there is a lost and found booth on-site at the main info kiosk. You can also email email@example.com.
9. What if my pet is a service animal?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about registering your documented service animal. Please keep in mind, it is illegal to fraudulently claim that your pet is a legitimate service animal.
10. Can I bring a pet?
No. Shabang has a strict no pet rule that will be enforced. Only documented service animals required for a disability, and who are trained to handle loud and active environments, are allowed in the festival grounds.
11. Is Shabang a Drug-Free Event?
Yes. Anyone caught with illegal substances will be escorted from the event and may face legal consequences. SLO PD will be onsite in the event they are needed.
12. Is clothing at Shabang optional?
Shabang celebrates freedom of individual expression, and while we love all bodies, this is a family-friendly event and the law states public nudity is prohibited.
13. Are there security and medical teams at Shabang?
Yes! These teams will be on duty all throughout the festival. If you need assistance you can contact any Shabang staff member, volunteer, go to the medical stations or info kiosk.
14. I can’t find a ride to Shabang, how can I get there?
We provide shuttles from Campus Bottle and the Cal Poly PAC departing every 30 minutes. You can take SLO transit on the 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B lines and hop off at the Madonna Road at Madonna Plaza stop, which is a 5-minute walk from Laguna Lake Park. You could also bike, skate, walk or catch an uber or lyft.

1. At what age does a child need a ticket?
Children 12 and under are free.
2. I have my friend’s ticket but we’re arriving separately. What should I do?
Make sure the ticket is in the name of the guest who will arrive first. We will give you 2 wristbands. When your guest arrives, it is your responsibility to deliver the wristband to them.
3. Do I need a physical ticket to get into Shabang?
No. You need your electronic ticket from Eventbrite and you will then receive a wristband at the Box Office onsite.

4. Will there be a lot of dust?
There is some dust – but not too much. If you’re sensitive to dust, we recommend bringing a scarf or bandana in case the wind kicks up!
5. What will the weather be like?
We can’t tell the weather of the future, but San Luis Obispo is known to have an average high in the seventies and lows in the fifties at the beginning of May. Bring a jacket! It’ll get cold when the sun goes down.
6. What is the terrain like at Laguna Lake Park?
It’s mostly flat with grass & dirt and some rocks. This venue also trees and a beautiful lake for your enjoyment.

NO open flame or charcoal grills will be allowed.

We recommend against it. There have been reports of toxic algae that could hurt you or your pets in recent years. All swimming is done at your own risk.
